Ticketing Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 26 June 2026
1. Ticket Purchases Are Final
All ticket purchases made through the evtOS Platform are final. Once a payment is confirmed, tickets cannot be cancelled or refunded unless the event is cancelled by the organiser (see Section 3).
Refunds at organiser's discretion: Individual refund requests for non-cancelled events are at the sole discretion of the event organiser. evtOS does not process refunds on behalf of organisers. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, you must contact the event organiser directly. evtOS has no obligation to intervene in refund disputes between attendees and organisers.
2. Event Cancellation and Postponement
Cancellation: If an event is cancelled by the organiser, attendees will be notified by email using the address registered at the time of purchase. The refund process for cancelled events is the responsibility of the organiser. evtOS will facilitate communication between organisers and attendees but cannot guarantee refund timelines.
Postponement: If an event is postponed, tickets remain valid for the rescheduled date unless the organiser specifies otherwise. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, you must contact the organiser to request a refund. evtOS is not liable for travel, accommodation, or any other costs incurred as a result of postponement or cancellation.
Force majeure: Neither evtOS nor the organiser shall be liable for cancellations or postponements resulting from circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, or public health emergencies.
3. Ticket Transfer Policy
Tickets are issued to the purchaser's registered account. Transfer of tickets to another person is permitted only where the event organiser explicitly enables transfer functionality within the Platform.
Unauthorised resale or transfer of tickets at a price above face value (touting) is strictly prohibited and may result in the ticket being voided without refund.
4. Entry Requirements
A valid ticket QR code is required for entry to all events using evtOS ticketing. QR codes are issued to the purchaser's registered email address and are also accessible within the attendee ticket wallet at evtos.io/tickets.
ID checks: Event organisers may require attendees to present a valid national ID or passport alongside their ticket QR code for identity verification. This is the organiser's requirement, not evtOS's.
Invalid or duplicate QR codes: Each ticket QR code can only be scanned once. Duplicate attempts will be flagged as invalid at the gate. evtOS is not responsible for tickets shared or compromised by the ticket holder.
5. Organiser Responsibility
evtOS provides the technology infrastructure that enables organisers to sell tickets and manage events. evtOS is not the event organiser, promoter, or host of any event listed on the Platform.
The organiser is solely responsible for:
- Delivering the event as advertised
- Setting and communicating terms of entry
- Managing access, security, and on-site operations
- Handling attendee disputes, refunds, and complaints
- Compliance with applicable Kenyan health, safety, and entertainment licensing laws
6. Payment Processing via Paystack
All payments on the evtOS Platform are processed by Paystack, a third-party payment processor. By completing a purchase, you agree to Paystack's terms of service and privacy policy.
evtOS does not store your card details. Payment data is handled entirely by Paystack in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. In the event of a payment processing failure, please contact Paystack directly or retry the transaction. evtOS shall not be liable for losses arising from Paystack service interruptions.
7. Pricing, Currency, and Fees
All ticket prices are displayed in the currency set by the event organiser, which is typically Kenyan Shillings (KES) for events in Kenya. Prices are inclusive of any platform service fees unless stated otherwise on the event listing.
evtOS does not add hidden fees. The price displayed at checkout is the final price you pay. The organiser receives the ticket revenue minus platform and payment processing fees as set out in their organiser agreement with evtOS.
Taxes: Event organisers are responsible for ensuring ticket prices comply with applicable Kenyan tax regulations including VAT where applicable.
Platform service fee: evtOS charges a 3.5% commission on paid ticket sales, applied from the organiser's fourth event onwards. An organiser's first three events are commission-free. For founding organisers, no ticket commission applies on any event, permanently. This fee is deducted from the organiser's settlement and is not an additional charge to the attendee. The price displayed to attendees at checkout is the final price inclusive of all fees. Free events are never subject to commission.
8. Lost or Stolen Tickets
evtOS is not responsible for tickets that are lost, stolen, or shared without authorisation by the ticket holder. If you believe your ticket has been compromised, contact the event organiser as soon as possible.
In cases of confirmed fraud, the event organiser has discretion to issue a replacement ticket or void the affected ticket. evtOS will provide technical assistance to organisers in investigating suspected fraud.
9. Contact
For ticketing queries, please first contact the event organiser. For Platform-related issues, contact evtOS:
